Felicia Files has always wanted to work with people, people on the coast of Maine. She has explored educating people, as a Special Education Teacher. She has experienced feeding people, as a server and a bartender. She has committed to learning from people, as a lifelong student.
Before beginning her career as a Polarity & Manual Therapist, Felicia graduated from Bowdoin College with a Bachelor's Degree in English.
She next worked with physically, mentally, emotionally, and behaviorally challenged children as a Special Education Teacher. Felicia enjoyed following through with her students' physical and occupational therapy programs, which drew her to pursue an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy from Kennebec Valley Community College.
As a Physical Therapist's Assistant, Felicia had the great good fortune to work with and be inspired by Sue Digeser-Stebbins and Frank Gentile, Physical Therapists, who specialize in Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT). Felicia has since specialized in IMT since 2000, has taken more than 20 IMT courses, and logged thousands of clinical experience hours.
In 2004-2007, Felicia broadened her practice by completing Spa Tech Institute's Holistic Massage and Registered Polarity Practitioner programs. Her Polarity instructors honed Felicia's client-centered method of practice. Felicia also deepened her knowledge of and appreciation for the human body, mind, and spirit as an instructor for Spa Tech Institute in Anatomy & Physiology, Massage, and Polarity from 2007-2008
Felicia started her practice, Waves of Healing, in 2005, incorporating all of the above experiences and modalities. As a practitioner of Polarity and Integrative Manual Therapies, Felicia combines her skills in education, service, and learning to help her clients achieve optimal health and well being. Felicia is honored to form a partnership with each client, in each session, supporting the client's realization of his or her best.
