Become a Turn the Tide Provider
Apply here.
Do you think our healthcare system is inadequate and want to help make a difference? Would you like to see other forms of medicine accessible to everyone? Turn the Tide is looking for interested complementary and alternative healthcare providers to join in making CAM available to everyone, and build community at the same time.
How It Works
- Healthcare providers give as much or as little time per month as is feasible for their practices and schedules; we ask for a minimum of two, but most providers do four to six hours per month.
- All care is provided out of your own office as you would do for any other patient.
- Turn the Tide providers carry their own malpractice and liability insurance, and hold a current license/certification if required in the state of Maine.
- Your Turn the Tide patients will pay it forward for their care with community service, Hours through Hour Exchange Portland, or a cash donation to the collaborative. Hour Exchange Portland is nonprofit community service exchange where members earn Hours doing service, and then spend those Hours to receive services from other members. It is a community currency based on time, reciprocity, and respect, in which all work is equal. For more information about Hour Exchange Portland, visit www.hourexchangeportland.org. - Providers report the time they spend with Turn the Tide patients to the collaborative using an online system.
- Providers can also participate in monthly community health clinics in Portland, ME. To see any upcoming clinics, classes, or events, visit our events page.
